EFT Tapping for Pet Grief During the Holidays
For anyone missing their pet this holiday season
The holidays can be a really tender time when you’re missing your pet.
You may find yourself surrounded by celebration while quietly carrying grief in your heart. It can be hard to be surrounded by lights, music and people expressing joy. For many of us, the absence of our animal companion is felt most clearly during these moments.
The daily routines have changed and the traditions you had just don’t feel right. Most of all, the love you shared has nowhere obvious to go.
While pet grief is becoming more understood, it still isn’t always recognized in the same way as grieving a human loved one. That can leave people feeling unseen, or unsure of how much space they’re “allowed” to take with their sadness. In reality, losing an animal companion can be just as deep, disorienting, and painful.
Grief can show up in many ways within the body. From feeling heaviness in the back, tightness in the chest or an overall feeling of numbness. There’s no right way to experience grief. You don’t have to follow any specific timeline.
Holding all of this during the holidays can feel incredibly isolating, and it’s one of the reasons I felt called to create something supportive.
Why I created this video
I created a gentle EFT tapping video for anyone missing their pet during the holidays. Perhaps you’re familiar with EFT tapping and have tried it before. If you haven’t, that is okay too.
The intention isn’t to fix grief or rush it away. Instead, this tapping session is meant to:
Acknowledge the sadness and love that coexist
Offer a sense of companionship and support
Help your body feel a little bit lighter, even briefly
Sometimes creating just a little space around grief can make a meaningful difference.
A note about EFT tapping
EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), often called “tapping,” involves gently tapping on specific meridian points on the body while acknowledging emotions. These meridian points come from traditional Chinese medicine and are connected to the nervous system.
Many people find tapping helpful for:
Processing emotions safely
Calming the body during grief or stress
Feeling more grounded and supported
In this video, I tap along with you — so it feels like someone is right there with you.
If you need support right now
If you’re missing your pet this season, you’re invited to watch the video and follow along at your own pace. You’re also welcome to pass it along if you know someone grieving their animal companion during this time.
